Pinus parviflora ogon janome (dragons eye), syn ~parviflora janome-goyo, & ~parviflora oculus-draconis(not densiflora oculus draconis….that’s a different thing) USDA H5-hardy
Becomes broadly upright with golden yellow variegation bands on the sift green needles producing the classic ‘dragon’s eye’ effect. 3x2m in 10yrs, reported as early as 1890 as being cultivated in Japan. In our view, probably the best, most beautiful dragons eye pine, not so commonly seen in horticulture as it deserves.
