A popular erect, vigorous and sparsely branched tree, with stiff curved silver-blue needles- distinctly blue-white on the upper surface, according to season and planting. 3 x1.5m in 10 yrs. Pollen buds are often distinctly red in Spring, seed cones are abundant. Originates in Japan and first recorded by Beissner, 1909.
