Hardier than ~montezumae, perhaps more glorious in some peoples perception.
A tree to 30m tall, but perhaps shorter and more shrubby in more more exposed sites. The crown is dense and rounded, spreading assurgent branches with long bluey(when young and according to season and planting) needles to 30cm
