An openly branched tree, few laterals, and thick branches. Very vigorous(to 70cm pa), and very blue according to season and planting. A very old cv raised from seed in Herefordshire, c1840. Becomes more randomly chaotic and busy in the same sense as ~virgata(ie. taking a decade or two or more, yet strong vigorous growth on the few laterals that exist and leader), except more glaucous and more pendulous than ~virgata
