Acer palmatum pendulum Julian- very hardy
The Spring leaves are bronze-green with green veining, becoming purple-red in the Summer. The colour holds well, gradually changing to rusty-green with reddish undertones. Autumn colour is yellow to crimson-orange combinations that are quite vivid. Short, firm leaf stalks. This is a very hardy wide spreading cv cascading outwards and downwards. Originates before 1930. 2-4m ultimate height, mounded, listed as to be grown in sun. However, we would not recommend that for younger plants, nor if surrounded by stone/gravel.
